• Kriz is currently a director and investment advisor to Kingdem Capital of Beijing, which is a government of China linked merchant bank and fund manager for the government’s state owned enterprises. Mr. Kriz advises Kingdem on various technology and healthcare programs and has split his time between the US, UK and China (www.kingdem.com.cn) starting in 2016.   Along with his activities in China, Mr. Kriz launched Templeton Energy Partners LLC (TEP) as a vehicle for the movement of various China relationships into non-China markets with US financial institutions.  Since its launch Mr. Kriz has evolved TEP into Independent Energy Providers Pvt Ltd (Caymans), where he serves as its founding chairman (www.iep-alliance.com ) and is focused on the broad issues facing the build of national economies in the emerging markets.

• Along with these positions, Mr. Kriz was the chief strategy officer for the Thrasys Corporation of San Francisco, CA, and the chairman of the First Medicine Holdings Corporation of New York. The activities with Thrasys and First Medicine allowed Mr. Kriz to maintain his interests and focus on the design and development of national healthcare systems and how technology is used to address critical societal infrastructure needs.

• Prior to these activities, Mr. Kriz was the CEO of Keystone Health Ltd of London, England/ Cyprus, which was focused on healthcare investments in the Middle East, with a specific focus on the country of Jordan and into the West Bank. Kriz was a resident of the country of Jordan during his tenure with Keystone.   

• Before stepping into the investment and development industries in the mid-2000s Kriz held engineering and executive positions with the IBM Corporation and Johns Hopkins Medicine.   

• Kriz was a faculty member and on the executive committee at Johns Hopkins Medicine, directed the Center for Biomedical Visualization with the National University of Singapore and launched Hopkins first medial robotics program with IBM, among other efforts.  During his tenure at Hopkins Mr. Kriz was the founder or co-founder of several corporations, including Johns Hopkins International, American Radiology Services, Amcare Labs, and the MedBiquitous consortium. To support these activities Mr. Kriz lead investment syndications with various multinational institutions including the government of Singapore (EDBI) , Johns Hopkins University, Pfizer, Medtronic and others. Each of the referenced companies exist today in the market as substantial commercial enterprises or as part of a medical society.   

• Prior to entering Johns Hopkins, Mr. Kriz was the founding CEO of the market’s first medical Artificial Intelligence (AI) company, the Camdat Corporation, which was sold to the Hearst Corporation in 1991. Camdat was the result of work of IBM, Stanford University, Carnegie Mellon and the University of Pittsburgh and a pioneer in medical AI.   Camdat was based in Japan with a US HQ in Pittsburgh, PA.

• Kriz started his career in IBM, where he was the head of advanced technologies and responsible for products (i.e., design, development and production) in areas as diverse as computer OS, media computing through AI.  Among his IBM activities, Mr. Kriz and his team developed IBM’s first speech recognition product and the multi-tasking and multi-media extensions to IBM’s first personal computer.  One of Mr. Kriz’s final activities in IBM was the launch of its first Application Software Institute with IBM Research.  

• Kriz joined IBM in 1980 as a software engineer, with a focus on machine and assembly language programming in MVS and VM.   

Mr. Kriz has experience and working knowledge of the primary markets of China, India and the various Asean countries that dates to his time at IBM in the 1980s.  He has expanded his early experience in the 1990’s to include work in the Middle East and Eastern Europe.   

Along with his work activities Mr. Kriz is the author of the book, “The Patient Will See You Now: How Advances in Science, Medicine, and Technology Will Lead to a Personalized Health Care System”, which was published by Rowman and Littlefield in 2008.  His book is a summary of his academic efforts in information and genetic-based medicine, which was a broad thesis and general focus of his work at Hopkins and IBM.   Mr. Kriz is currently writing a follow-up to his book that explores the rise of social groups within communities, how they influence the development of national economies and are controlled by the dual forces of behavioral genetics and cell evolution.    

Mr. Kriz has a degree in Economics from the University of Rochester and studied Computer Science/Mathematics at the University of Maryland. Along with his academic education Mr. Kriz graduated from the Officer Candidates School (Platoon Leaders Class I) of the US Marine Corps (USMC) with a focus on a future career as a USMC pilot.
